Level 7 Cirtificate in Advanced Aesthetic Practice
Botulinum Toxin & Dermal Fillers
24-Week Advanced Injectable Aesthetics Programme

The Level 7 Certificate in Advanced Aesthetic Practice at Dermology is an advanced programme designed for appropriately qualified practitioners who want to develop their knowledge, practical skills and confidence in two of the most established areas of non- surgical aesthetics: botulinum toxin and dermal fillers.

Over 24 weeks, the programme combines advanced theoretical education with practical and supervised clinical learning, providing practitioners with the opportunity to develop a strong understanding of facial anatomy, consultation, treatment planning, injectable techniques, client expectations, risk management and the recognition and management of complications.

This is designed for practitioners looking for a structured, in-depth Level 7 programme, rather than a short introductory injectable course.

What You Will Study

Botulinum Toxin

Develop your theoretical and practical understanding of facial aesthetic treatments using botulinum toxin.

Training covers:

  • Facial anatomy and muscle structure
  • Facial assessment
  • Treatment planning
  • Consultation and informed consent
  • Injection principles
  • Appropriate facial aesthetic applications
  • Treatment review and follow-up
  • Aftercare
  • Recognition and management of potential complications

You will develop an understanding of how individual facial anatomy, treatment objectives and client expectations influence appropriate treatment planning.

Dermal Fillers

Develop practical and theoretical knowledge in the use of dermal fillers for facial
enhancement and rejuvenation.

The programme includes selected treatment areas such as:
Lips
Lip enhancement, definition, proportion and assessment.
Cheeks
Assessment and treatment planning for facial contour, structure and balance.
Nasolabial Lines
Understanding facial ageing and appropriate treatment planning for the appearance of nasolabial lines.
Marionette Lines
Assessment of the lower face and treatment planning for the appearance of marionette lines. You will also develop knowledge of:

  • Facial assessment
  • Dermal filler product considerations
  • Treatment planning
  • Needle and cannula techniques
  • Consultation and informed consent
  • Aftercare
  • Treatment review
  • Complication prevention and management

Consultation & Client Expectations

Exceptional aesthetic practice begins with an exceptional consultation.
Throughout the programme, you will develop the skills required to assess each client as an individual and understand the factors that influence treatment suitability and outcomes.

You will explore:

  • Client motivations and expectations
  • Psychological considerations
  • Facial assessment
  • Medical history
  • Contraindications and precautions
  • Informed consent
  • Treatment objectives
  • Individualised treatment planning
  • Client communication
  • Aftercare and follow-up
  • Complication recognition
  • Management of adverse events
  • Sub-optimal treatment outcomes
  • Appropriate escalation and referral
  • Aftercare and follow-up

Facial Anatomy & Clinical Knowledge

A comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy is fundamental to safe injectable practice.

The programme develops your knowledge of relevant facial structures and anatomy and how this knowledge informs:

Assessment • Treatment Planning • Injection Approach • Risk Management

You will learn to consider individual facial anatomy and proportions when developing
treatment plans rather than relying solely on standardised approaches.

Managing Risks & Complications

Safety is at the centre of advanced aesthetic practice.

You will develop an understanding of potential risks and complications associated with botulinum toxin and dermal filler procedures, including:

  • Risk assessment
  • Prevention of complications
  • Recognition of adverse events
  • Appropriate management
  • Sub-optimal treatment outcomes
  • Client dissatisfaction
  • Aftercare and follow-up
  • Appropriate escalation
  • Referral where required

The programme aims to develop the professional judgement required to recognise when an outcome requires further assessment or medical intervention.

A Practical Approach to Learning

The 24-week structure gives you time to build your knowledge progressively and develop your practical skills through structured learning.

Your programme combines:
